It all started here 30 years ago

December 07, 2019
Thirty years ago, Cliff and I travelled down the Baja in a lime green VW Van and arrived at Mulege Baja at Las Cocos Beach. What attracted us to this particular spot was the calm sea and the palapas . It was the perfect place to fall in love and to have a fantastic time enjoying snorkelling and cooking over a fire. This beach made such an impact in our lives that we named our very first dog after this place- Coco.

True love has a habit of coming back- author unknown

We knew that if we are going down the Baja this time, we must return to our roots and find the carving we did just about 30 years earlier. We did discover our writting and added our return date to see if maybe with a little luck in another 30 years we might return again

Las Cocos Beach round two

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” Mahatma Gandhi
As soon as we set up the LuvShk at the beach, it felt like we returned home. The view has not changed, and the snorkelling was still fabulous. Vendors would come by and sell seafood, water and some souvenirs. The best part was we  were able to buy most things at the beach. So we finally had a  week of parking , reading, swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing and relaxing.

Paradise rediscovered

It always seems impossible until it’s done. Nelson Mandela
After 30 years, I have to say not much changed. The beach still carries the same magic it did when we first came. The water was warm; the vendors were friendly, and the tranquillity refreshed our souls. We are so glad we made this trip and took a breather at Las Cocos Beach and maybe in another 30 years, we will be back. If you happen to be at this beach someday, please look for our carving and know what a happy place this is.
